General Information:

Formed by the greatest series of volcanic activity known to man, New Zealand's largest lake lies in the heart of the North Island. Taupo is famous for its trout fishing and a host of other activities based on or around the lake. Taupo Township sits on the shores of the lake with its southerly outlook encompassing the Kaimanawaranges and the spectacular mountains of Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe in the Tongariro National Park. Guests should plan to arrive in Taupo the day before their scheduled package date. All travel and lodging expenses outside what is included in our package pricing is the responsibility of the guest. Accommodations in Taupo during the summer months can be quite difficult to obtain, so if you are planning on staying a few extra days in Taupo, let our staff know as soon as possible. Accommodations will be arranged by our staff at one of Taupo's lodge. (See "lodging" part of this web site).
